Air Registers

One example of how TRW is meeting OEM needs is its air registers. A patented, In Mold Assembly (IMA) process allows TRW Automotive to produce complete vane assemblies and even complete air registers with just one tool and in only one cycle. This new process allows TRW to eliminate a separate assembly step by molding movable components in the manufacturing process. In addition, the new technology enables TRW to meet the close tolerance limits that were difficult, if not impossible, with conventional processes. The new process has yielded significant productivity and quality improvements for TRW -- improvements that add up to savings for customers.
The advantages to customers are air registers of consistent quality that provide smooth, rattle-free operation and the availability of special material combinations, various surfaces, full-closing vanes and background-lit symbols.
