TRW produces a variety of side impact airbag configurations designed to help improve occupant protection in side impact collisions. These configurations include head, thorax, pelvic bags and integrated side airbag modules which offer the protection of these bags in one combined system. A third option is side curtain airbags which inflate downward from the vehicle's doors. Located in the occupant's seat, side impact airbags inflate when crash sensors located in the vehicle's side doors sense that a collision has taken place.
