Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go

TRW is building on its innovative driver assist product portfolio by adding a traffic jam assistant stop and go functionality to its Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system. Using the ACC long range radar, Traffic Jam Assistant allows the ACC vehicle to follow a target to stop and upon driver command follow that target in traffic jam situations. Stop and Go uses additional short range radars to cover a wider field in front of the ACC vehicle. ACC Stop and Go permits the ACC vehicle to automatically follow its target in a traffic jam situation.

IMU & Integration

Some vehicle manufacturers are moving toward a strategy to integrate the inertial sensors/inertial measurement units (IMUs) into the braking electronic control unit (ECU).
Examples of such integration include:
•    Electronic Stability Control (ESC) inertial sensors integrated into TRW’s braking electro-hydraulic control unit (EHCU).
•    IMU integrated within TRW’s airbag ECU
•    IMU integrated within TRW’s electronic parking brake ECU

Occupant Safety Systems

Innovative thinking

Protecting people. That’s the aim of our ongoing tradition of occupant safety innovation. TRW is continually developing advanced solutions to anticipate and react to the many variables of a crash. Our sophisticated systems utilize an array of electronic sensors to gather and analyze data, which enables intelligent control units to better determine how to protect drivers and passengers.

Braking Systems

Quick thinking

As the world leader in foundation brake systems and a pioneer in electronic braking, TRW continues to create innovative systems that combine proven brake function with advanced electronics. Our electronically controlled braking systems help prevent skids and slides, wheel lock and wheel slippage to help keep drivers in control.
