TRW's Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) "Stop & Go" function enables full stop and subsequent acceleration when the target vehicle moves forward and the path is clear. The "Stop & Go" system features a 77GHz Long Range Radar and adds at least one 24GHz Short Range Radar Sensor. TRW is currently developing a Mid Range Radar system that performs similar functions to Long Range Radar at reduced cost.

With TRW's Collision Warning 1, the area in front of the vehicle is monitored by radar sensors. If the sensors detect an imminent collision, the driver receives haptic feedback through the TRW Active Control Retractor seat belt system. With Collision Warning 2, in addition to the radar sensors, a video camera monitors the lanes in front of the vehicle.
