What do I do?
Right now, I'm working on a weight sensor project for auto seats. It measures the weight of each occupant and tells the air bags how to deploy in order to best protect that person. I do a lot of testing and data analysis, and work closely with the customer.
I like my job because?
I love a good challenge and all the stages of the design development keep things fresh and new. I really like my group, too.
I like TRW because?
As a company, we are really flexible. I feel like I can balance my career and my life outside work now and into the future, no matter what changes. All I need to do is talk with my boss when I have to leave a little early or come in later.
The value of a co-op..
My co-op was invaluable. Rotating to three different product groups allowed me to find out what I liked and what I wanted to do when I graduated. The field of mechanical engineering is so broad, but the co-op helped me choose my path. In fact, I took electives while I was still in school to address the things I wanted to learn or was curious about from my co-op.
A few words about my supervisor?
My supervisor is a great mentor, and I know he's truly looking out for me. He asks me where I want to take my career. I've even been able to talk with him about career growth and feel like I'm getting good advice for me as a person, not just as his employee.
