High Performance Brake FBC
With the FBC/FBA caliper, TRW has developed a new generation of high-performance brakes for front axle applications.
The FBC caliper has a composite twopiece design. The thin-walled bridge is made from temperature-resistant cast iron.
The cylinder body is made from a lightweight aluminum alloy with high stress resistance capability. The FBA utilizes a onepiece aluminum housing/bridge. The special design of the brake enables in the same packaging situation with significantly larger rotor diameters as compared with standard fist type calipers.
The FBC/FBA allows for very large pad areas, which increases pad maintenance intervals meaning they are a more cost effective and efficient choice, especially for premium vehicle models.
